Duh! Almost forgot.
Yep got up and went about my business and around 10 AM I got this phone call. Was my sister to wish me a Happy Birthday. Yea, I plum forgot. So to hell with racking and planting grass. Down to said shop I went and whipped me up something for myself. Now I know most of you don't appreciate anything much outside the straight Billiard/Pot/Apple/Bulldog family, but as I always say variety is the spice of life. I borrowed RP's tamper to give it a bit of class but it should be in his grubby little mitts later today.
Is it a reject? Well kinda, there is a real small fissure where the shank meets the bowl but with the black undercoat it is barely noticeable. Anyway, it is more of an experimental thing. It has one of those pinpoint conical chambers and I have a theory I need to check out.

It did not go unnoticed that you fail to mention the number of years... Great looking pipe & a clever design. Once again, the workmanship looks superb.
Happy Birthday!

First, happy Birthday....
then I have to say that this is a most striking pipe. My first visual asociation on seeing it was a nordic pickaxe and done very well. Zlatni ruki, literally "golden hands".

Nice Pipe Chris!
Happy Birthday too.

Thanks all.
Turned out to be a great day, double nickels BTW. I knew it was my birthday last week just spaced it on the morning routine. Once it was realized all chores were off. Spent about 3 hours shooting the shit in a B&M, rp was present, along with a couple of other guys. Spent the entire time talking pipes and cigars and seems like the Peter (Manager of B&M) is real interested in doing some nights to promote pipe smoking. Was all good. Left with 3 repairs, 1 broken stem and two stem refurb's, didn't even have to hold up any sign.
The pick axe was treated to some F&T CVP, PA, both quarter bowls. Draw was good and both blends burned all the way. I don't normally like conical chambers, they have always seemed to concentrate the moisture too much. Not as bad as a tapered bowl but more than a round. So the experiment is to have it cake heavier on the bottom where the cake should be able to compensate for the additional moisture. Anyway that is my theory.
Bulldog was feed SG Medium VA Flake and the fishing pipe got some well aged Penzance. Good day, oh yea. I think I like the pipe, good score.
