head spins and queasiness

I'm not going to go through the exercise of trying to name them all. I'm a nic-whimp.

Some suggested buying pipes with smaller bowls for the high nic tobaccos. I say NO! I like my pipes to last about 1hr45min and if the nic level of a particular tobac is too much for that time frame then I say trash it and go find a better one!

Thanks for the heads up on the nic level of OJK ... you further set my resolve to not purchase any.

Don't know why because I'm sure I currently smoke MUCH stouter blends with monotonous regularity without ill effects. SHF just gave me ridiculous and violent hiccups and absolutely unbelievable heartburn with the slightest exposure. It didn't seem to matter how quick or slowly I smoked it either. Straight 5Bros and to a lesser extent OJK when I first started smoking them were obviously towards the threshold of my nicotine tolerance. Again hiccups when I puffed too fast, tightness in my chest and kind of a restless, gittery feeling like overdoing espresso or red bull. With time though I learned with stout burlies, slow and steady wins the race. I suppose an aquired tolerance was probably a factor after a while. Now I can smoke back to back bowls of either with no problem. After dipping Copenhagen for half my childhood and most of my adult life, I guess the nicotine queasies are a thing of the past. Hiccups, heartburn and the aforementioned jitters are now my vitamin N overdose idicators. While OJK and 5Bros are both staples in my rotation, I don't think I'll ever again engage Safe Harbor Flake

for the tip, since it is a burley flake I think I will give it a whirl. Yes OJK give me the hiccups but I just set it down for a bit and go back to it, heck sometimes it is still lit.

Funny thing, but I considered SHF to be relatively full but not obtrusive. The only tobaccos that ever knocked me back were the brown ropes, and Mammoth Cave Twist. Either one will hit me about 1/2 through the smoke, to the point of headaches and nausea. I don't smoke them any more.

I've experienced a queasy feeling with Orlik Bull's Eye, but only by smoking several bowls back to back on an empty stomach. A few blends will give me the hiccups but it quickly passes.

A few years back I was a real nic wimp, but these days it would probably take one of those rope tobaccos to phase me. I don't know if that's a good thing, but what the heck.

I had a similar experience for a couple days...I've never figured it out...must have had a couple loose parts at the time, or something.

Elizabethan Blend...whether 'tis nobler in the pipe or in the trash....
