Ready for this S**T....
So, whenever I write a new blog post, I always shamelessly promote it here as well as at ASP and any other forum that strikes my fancy at the time. Well, my most recent post I gave a blurb here with a link to the blog and proceeded to do the same at ASP.
Well, ASP would not let me post for some reason. Confounded, I decided to try a few tests. I placed several other links in my post to see if it would work, and low and behold, it did. So, it seems that someone either specifically blocked my blog URL from being allowed, or reported it as spam, etc. Obviously, I have a REALLY big fan over there. Just goes to show that my most recent article is spot on.

Well, I could see
that many of our 'friends' on ASP might take umbrage to those remarks. Acceptance and maturity are states not easily achieved. You have suggested that we need to set aside the pettiness and the siege mentality exhibited frequently for the good of our pastime. Not the first one to do so, but certainly in the minority. And, I agree with you. Too often, many of our colleagues have assumed that we electronic gatherers are the taste-makers, and the norm. I often wonder just how many of those who proclaim 'smoke what you like' would actually defend the casual smoker of a really foul pipe tobacco, or would chide a fellow smoker for their choice of pipes.
A pointed and well reasoned position, with which I agree. Well said.

Purely technical ... Nothing
Purely technical ... Nothing will keep you from posting anything on ASP, other than flaky servers. ASP is not moderated, hence loads of spam gets to ASP on a regular basis.
Try again later, and it will be sure to work.

Unfortunatley Lars...
I tried posting again this morning, and it will still not allow me to post my message with my blog URL in the body. It is quite possible it seems that someone reported the URL to google as spam, which may be blocking me.
So, although it is not a conspiracy directed at just me... I feel better complaining that it is. =o)

Hmm
convert it in tinyurl.com and see how that goes.

That's what I was thinking ...
Shouldn't be too big a problem, I reckon.
At least it's wort a try -- perhaps google doesn't want any references to its competition, which is why those links are banned? If that were the case -- it seems the only logical explanation I can come up with, but I am a dimwit -- that would be contradictory to sharing information, which is what I always thought a search engine is for.
Then again, I might, and probably am completely off base here.
tinyurl ought to work. At least it would never hurt to try.

Pipe Lore
The Reason
I never got very involved with any other pipe-related forums, but I was involved with a few cigar forums that were horrible when it came to some of the points you speak to in your blog. I finally gave them all up. Life is too short to deal with that kind of frivolous crap.
There are reasons that I hang out here: no flame wars, no pissing matches, no bashing someone due to opinions and preferences, and no egos. The bonus is that everyone is friendly and helpful, too. If things here started to turn stupid, I would leave in a heartbeat.

Well that stinks!
Well, we still love ya Justin ... post here and forget about the other sites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know, I know ... sounds close-minded ... but its what I do and I've been at peace with myself ever since I came here to MPC (ONLY).

I agree Rick...
This is by far the best place on the net. As I said, my only posting at other forums is for shameless promotion of my blog. But alas, what is the point, I don't really care if half of those people read it anyway.

HEY !
I agree with Rick
WHY am I not surprised!!!!
I do not always agree with him... sometimes I think he is just as crazy as you !!! =o)
But in this instance... there is no grounds to argue.

Well I'm just just not so sure.
I really think the Beaver can handle more crap today. He has youth on his side, staminia and doesn't need Geritol or Viagra. I really can't see him caving in on that one and sheepishly nodding his head in agreement. In fact I think he is going to decent and demand more shit to come his way.
Now let me see what else I can come up with, its gotta be a slam dunk.

Well....
I feel like I got hoodwinked... stuck between a rock and a hard place, backed into a corner.
I must agree to disagree with the agreement that has been previously disagreed upon as part of the agreement... and disagree on the second point of agreement...
If you can follow that, your a better man than I, because I haven't the slightest clue what the hell I just wrote. I figure it should confuse Chris for awhile though.

I must agree to disagree with the agreement
Ahhhh Haaaa!
There you have it folks ... he just penned his name to the agreement of the disagreement to give me all his pipes and tobacco! It was the first part of the 2nd part that brought about the disagreement and wheretofore I am thereby awarded legally all his worldly possessions!
Life is good.

Lucky you...
Looks like you will get a few Grabows afterall!
Aside from my pipes... you wouldn't want my worldly possessions. LOL
