We have two and a half seasons in most of Israel. I find it so hot in the summers I usually don't care to smoke outdoors except at night. Then I guess a good VA is in order.
When winter comes it can be quite like I imagine London would be (not necessarily in their winter time, only the wet and rainy and foggy part) so I prefer a straight burley or full English to take the edge off.
Red and lemon VA's, some black cavendish and a bit of burley flake with just a drop of flavor. A fantastic 24/7/365 smoke. It's Craig Tarlers only smoke: Two Friends - Heritage. He collaborated with G.L. Pease in 1999 to create the series. Craig insists he smokes nothing other than Heritage and his worker's testify to that fact. I never would have tried it on my own, but did and now I smoke it everyday alternating with my own light latikia blend from C&D with a touch of flavor (Captain Bob's Blend). These two blends in rotation throughout the day keep me completely satisfied. A contrast and great tobacco flavor and aroma in each. Living in Wisconsin where the seasons are very stark in contrast, about the only thing that changes is where I smoke... in front of the fireplace or on the screen porch! Every once in a while I light up an old favorite just for a treat such as Green River Vanilla (burley) or Safe Harbor Flake (burley), both from C&D.
or so I think. I always have everything open all year and smoke all all year. But through the summer it seems that VA's are at their best. Maybe their light flavor seems to come alive a bit more or maybe it is the heat that makes me less active and more content to sit and puff where I can really appreciate them more.
For replacements in my rotation Brown Clunee and F&T Black Jack are going to replace the Old Gowrie and Marlin Flake. I hope I like them as much. Other than that I will continue to work the others down.
I find myself reaching more for Va's right now, preferably flakes. And English blends. Not to say the Burleys are out of the picture. I'm looking for the tobacco equivalent of comfort food. Burleys seem more like porch tobaccos. I venture onto the porch infrequently (although it's not too bad around midday). Latakia's seem made for wood fires. And the Va's - well I don't know - might just be a phase of the moon thing.
Summer tends to significantly scale back my smoking/enjoyment thereof. Although there's no real fall or winter in Florida, there is a time between October and about May that seems much better for smoking than the opressively hot months (June, July, August and some of September)
I tend to smoke the same stuff all year round. Since I live near the ocean, there are hot summer days when the air becomes too dense to want to smoke much of anything. Instead of 10 or 12 bowls, I may go down to like 5 or 6.
I live in one of the hottest places in my country, when it's 40C(something like 104F, I think) degrees out I don't really like smoking. I will say I probably smoke more burley because it seems more nuetral.
I'm so danged predictable. I smoke the same thing all the time. I'll take the stroll into new lands to satisfy my curiosity, but I can't leave dame OGS in the dark for very long - regardless of the season.
In summer, if it is very hot during the day, I smoke more kentucky or more burley and less e.m. respect the winter. Maybe it is true that, again in summer, I smoke virginia more pure and less viginia-perique combinations.
You mean going to summer or fall or spring or winter?

Same all year.
Seasons don't matter to me when it comes to smoking. I want my standard 4 every week: McClelland VA / Burley / English / Straight VA. Love it.

I smoke the same...
but enjoy it less in the summer...well, July & August.

It's winter down here

While I...
don't change tobaccos, I do change beverages with the seasons. I prefer dark liquors in the cold months and clear liquors in the hot months.
I'm going along with everyone else.
