Recommended Restoration businesses
Who do you get to do your pipe-work for you? Do you do it yourself? Or do you hire someone else? Do you do other people's pipes as well?
I want to put together a directory of contacts for pipe work, with reviews and ratings. So recommend your preferred pipe artisans!

I have been referred to Walker Briar Works for any and all my needs. I have to talked to Dave Wolff about cutting a new stem for my Walt Cannoy rusticated poker. A cumberland stem with a bit more comfort built in. I will be sending my pipe shortly and will keep you posted to the outcome.

Without a doubt,the best,quickest and most resonably priced pipe repairman is none other than Howard Schulte of Vero Beach Florida.He's an authorized repair man for MastroDePaja,Dunhill,Charatan and Peterson too!.

As far as stem replacements and banding etc., I like Tim West and also the Tinskys...they do really good work, but I am not sure how their prices stack up against others...I just know that I can trust the quality of their work.

I do my own. Of the few "professionals" I've tried, all seem to forget to clean the smoke hole.
What this country needs is dirtier fingernails and cleaner minds.

to the business who I cannot personally recommend since I do not get pipes repaired. He has contributed several threads on the Pipe Makers Forum It seems that his passion for pipes is quite strong, seems very knowledgable about pipes and repairs and and a couple of his restoration jobs he has posted. It is pretty amazing to see some of those before images.
