Advise on a lathe
The fire has not died in me to make my own pipes.
I have a sanding disk, buffing wheel, table band saw, and I was wondering a standard table top lathe will do ok.
Menards has a decent lathe for about $130. I just dont want to spend the cash on it if it won't do the job.
The quest continues...

I have a JET 1014 I paid $350 or so and am very glad I also picked up the extension bed for $59. The additional weight adds stability and doubles the workspace.
Here are some in the price range you are suggesting
THIS LOOKS LIKE CRAP
While this seems to be a knock off of the JET 1014VSL
I was warned that some of the stuff is crap coming from China. I have also heard some are very happy with them but they were recent purchases and the reasons for avoiding them were not that they were shitty (although that was also said) but was they were inferior products and do not last.
For another $100 I wish I had gotten the JET 1014VSL since I hate screwing with belts.
Hard to figure what you are looking at at Menards as it is not online. But I think the links above should have one close. For pipe making you are going to need a chuck also.
