What is this ChipIn thing at the bottom for?

Hello everyone!

 The time has finally come where I am able to commit the time to beginning the official rebuilding of MPC into something better suiting the community. To kick off the process, I am raising money for a new theme.

Any donations are much appreciated, even if it is only a few dollars you can spare.

I know this site can be built into something amazing. That isn't due to anything I do; that is you guys. Creating a website is the easy part. Building a community is very difficult. I don't know why you guys continue to show up day after day here, but I appreciate it. You are giving this site a great future.

What is ChipIn?

ChipIn is a service that manages fundraising for events like this, providing a nice little widget to display on the site to keep track of the donations. ChipIn takes no fees from what is donated - 100% of it goes to me and MPC via Paypal. 

Why don't I just create my own theme?

My strengths are in code-writing; that is, I can write site back ends, and applications, and all kinds of really technical stuff. Unfortunately, my artistic abilities are somewhat limited. To compensate for that in my business, a partner of mine is a very talented designer, and he handles the artistic/design direction of my business. However, I can't volunteer him to create a new theme for this site for any less than what I would pay him for any other site. Additionally, my hobby sites have to pay for themselves; I am not in a position to put large sums of money into them. I can donate all the time in the world, but I am planning to move into my first house in a few months, and have to have priorities!
