A Little Early

I still have 10 minutes until Friday here in Texas, but what the hell. I reloaded the Wookie with some OJK to finish off the night. Or maybe there will be another bowl before I hit the sack. Who knows . . .

Multiple pints of Kona Pale Ale are going along for the ride as well. Playing mindless flash games and listening to some Sex Pistols.

Nothing yet, but once I get home, the Stanwell POY1983 will be stuffed with some TOTM - alternating with some Reiner Golden (I'm convinced this is OGS in another tin), and what I believe is Bad Nun (thanks Henrik).

You are welcome :)

I saw that I forgot to put the small note into the envelope, saying that the old capstan tin contains Bad Nun. Sorry about the confusion.

I hope that there is enough to get any impression of the smoking qualities.

I think reiner have a bit of tea scent to it, both in the tin and in the pipe. and that it is this tiny thing separating the two. perhaps ogs is a tiiiiny bit sweeter, did not come to any conclusion about that though.

Reiner contains White Burley, Is this a lead in the question about OGS containing burley as well ?

That is a lead indeed.

The "tea scent" you are detecting would probably be bergamot, which you also find in Earl Grey tea. Orlik Luxury I believe is much stronger in bergamot content, which would obviously make it easier to pick out from the rest of the blend.

Having smoked a couple of bowls of the Reiner Flake, I am feeling confident that it is indeed OGS with minute adjustments, if any at all. We'll see what Orlik says.

Coming down to the dottle of a bowl of reiner, I am reminded on how lovely this flake is. I have not smoked it in a few days or so, a good thing this thread came up

Late morning start again

After dame insomnia lured me to a wayward 4am bedtime. I have Old Gowrie in a Butz Bent Billard. It is a dreamy, sunny Friday afternoon with the prospect of a fine weekend. Enjoy yours, good fellows.

Friday's here...

and the "Friday Sav. bulldog" is filled with Mr. Krantz. Expecting my TAD order (1 lb. OJK & 1/2 lb. Haunted Bookshop) anytime now. May also visit the B&M tomorrow just to pick-up "other stuff".

Ah, PSLNF

in a slightly bent pot. Three days since my last bowl and cardboard would probably taste wonderful. While #19 is repaired it is still sore as hell.

Muddler has me wondering if dame imsomnia is a specific insomnia where one can't sleep due to women on the mind.

Early Friday

I was up at 4:30 this morning and fired up some OJK in a Jobey Rhodisian, think thats spelled right, I also loaded a cob with Morelys best for a early ride in. Morelys is really unusual, aroma and taste, but I think I like it. Will smoke a few ounces before final verdict. Have a good day and a few good smokes!

Rain and chilly

here in RI. Sounds like the best thing to do is pack a bowl of Old Growrie in a Meer Egg and settle back in the recliner and pop Ironman into the box. Hopefully the steak will be thawed when it is over.

What are you all smoking in this crappy weather?

Last pipe of the day for me

I hope (if the dreaded dame doesn't waylay me again). I have OGS in a large Pete bent almost-chimney. I'm really enjoying this - a slow, even smoke. What I love about OGS is its reliability - no harshness, just a cool, citrusy, slightly sweet Va - some depth, no pretension. Perhaps that's what attracted me to my wife.

Friday evening

Friday evening and it's some Peretti 101 (a burley) in a Tinsky. The weekend is here!

After the evening's repast...

I always wanted to use that phrase, very Thomas Hardy and all. It's only 1930 hours in Phila, 52F and raining intermittently. Fortunately, they're all going out this PM, to parts unknown. leaving me, SWSL, and the Demon Peke to our own devices. The shocker is that I'm smoking Bookshop in an old Dunhill tanshell short billiard, ready for a pot of coffee to wile away the time. Time to hobble off w/the Demon Peke for a bit.

Wow, My Tobacco Reporting is Derelict

OK, so here's my pipe smoking day. Very similar to yesterday but in a little different order. The ride in Mr. Krantz was invited out of a large, homely but quite nice straight no-name Italian made Rhodesian. Late morning found me hunkered on the back porch enjoying some Bookshop out of a diamond shank KW four digit bulldog (real nice pipe). Didn't get a lunch time smoke the late afternoon smoke was OJK from the Rhodesian again. The drive home smoke way a bowl of SG Chocolate Flake that I loaded in a rusticated Gefapip Apple yesterday morning. Real good long lasting smoke but I think I prefer it as a morning blend. When I got home it was time to clean up the pool and get ready for a night swim. Whilst cleaning the pool I loaded up the Rhodesian with a well known yard work blend, Edgeworth RR. Apparently summer time is on the way to my corner of paradise as the humidity hovered around 467%. My chore completed I reached for a cold beer and realized I had no cold beer. A beer run would be required before any night swimming activities could be considered. I came back with a 12 pack of Yungling Black and Tan (Pennsylvania made in honor of Mr. Krantz's favorite grandson). The pool provided a refresing relief from the opressive humidity. I bobbed in the shallow end and swilled a couple bottles of the dark cold goodness raising my bottle to Morleysson and the great state of Pennsylvania. My post swim smoke was again Bookshop in the diamond shank KW. This HB is great stuff. Thanks fellas for a great steer. Again I ask, is Morley's Best or Night Train the final member of the trio?
