Mr. Sulu has a Life Partner?

Mr. Sulu has a Life Partner?

I didn't even know he was gay but then again, I didn't think Freddy Mercury was gay until he dropped from AIDS then a lot of things made sense. And Rock Hudson!? My Mom was totally crushed over that.

I've heard this, too

And frankly, it makes no difference to me whatsoever. I have a stepson and nephew who are both gay. Both have very successful careers and nice homes and are involved in monogamous long term relationships. I have a live and let live philosophy. Though I am not gay, I bear no animosity to those that are and frankly have no problem with them.

A great many people in

A great many people in Hollywood (and elsewhere) have finally come out and let it be known that they are indeed of a different sexual persuasion. I see this as a good thing.

George Takei (Mr. Sulu) revealed his homosexuality back in 2005 - a time where living the secret double-life was finally coming to an end. I can only imagine the stress some of those guys must have been living under. Good on Takei.

Not Attempting to Make a Political Statement

It just surprised me is all, talk about pressure, back in the day Rock Hudson was seen in public "dating" all kinds of Hollywood's most beautiful women. They had to know he wasn't the least bit interested but back then that just wasn't an acceptable answer, especially for one of Hollywood's handsome, macho, leading men. So, man about town playboy had to become just one more role that Hudson was forced to play. How sad to have to pretend you're something you're not.

I'll always remember him as Mr. Sulu

and be grateful for many hours of enjoyment and wonder he brought me as a child. As far as his plumbing goes ... I guess it just doesn't matter how or why he uses it, or with whom.

But...

That doesn't mean me and Mr. Sulu will be taking long hot showers together :) I for one like my women with lumps in all the right places (purely my choice)

Time flies

When I heard this a while ago, I was more taken aback that he was pushing 70 than that he was gay. Then I did the math on how old that show is, and yeah his age is about right. Man time flies!
