A Sad Day.
If the reports are true, and let's hope it's all been some kind of cruel joke on the part of Conwood, production of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed ceased today.
Along side of Walnut, ERR has been a favorite for awhile. It was the blend that converted me to a pipe after years of cigarette smoking. I will be sad to see it go. Out of respect of the dead, only ERR will be smoked today.

Recently, C&D put up a chart of their blends that are similar to old favorites. ERR does not appear, but you could call them to see if they can duplicate it for you. Here is the link for their look-alikes: http://www.cornellan...

Actually, I have been working on this issue for them. Right now, the first suggestion is C&D Competition Blend (#460) as a stop-gap, with the expectation that a much closer blend to ERRd can be developed. Any duplication is hampered by the formula for the slight casing that is applied, other than the dark rum.
The actual loss of ERRd probably won't be evident until about Labor Day, as the surplus dwindles. As recently as last week, JRs still had a sizable amount available. I have not been able to demonstrate to SheWhoSpeaksLoudly the cosmic seriousness of the impending loss, but, I sense that when she discovers me one morning curled in a fetal pose, drooling and whimpering, clutching an empty tub, that the problem may be better acknowledged.
