I have dared to sample a new blend as some will have noticed. It's W. Ø. Larsen Flake Cut. It's a straight VA and it has OGS characteristics as previously mentioned. After some 10 bowls of this stuff, I can positively say that I will not be investing in more tins of this stuff. It's good, but it's close enough to OGS that I'd rather prefer the real thing, so to speak.
Once this tin is empty, I'll get started on TOTM for September. Marlin Flake is a treat, but it tends to get a little too sweet for my taste. We'll see how it goes.

in a M de Paja bent apple on a warming Spring day. "Working" at home today, he he. Productivity not high with frequent trips outside into the sunshine to check if the grass is growing & the birds are eating the bread I put out for them. You never can be sure. Enjoy your day gentle puffers.
Working at home days are excellent. You can grab a soda from the fridge, make a tuna sandwich and fart without wondering if anybody heard. I think I need one of those days again soon.

and no time to log on. I had a Butz-Choquin Daccord burning Poplar Camp and Scots Heather. I'm looking forward to some quiet time tonight with everything on the menu and pipes of my choice.

feels kind of cool out, sun is down and crickets are chirping. I have a few pipes and tins of flake down in the cellar and am planing a visit. Feel free to drop in and smoke a bowl, company is always welcome.

Burned SR v2. a prototype personal blend. Very good, not quite where I want it yet but getting really close. Used my Whitehall Apple and a four digit KW billiard. Very nice.
Lars, I'm with you on working from home. I recently got approved to work from home on Tuesday and Thursday (I suspect that's probably a precursor to getting boned on the annual raise) either way though, working from home does work out very nicely. Farts, loud music, and chain smoking of pipes while working are all perfectly acceptable. The other thing I totally dig is the lack of commute time. I can drink coffee and have breakfast in shorts and a t-shirt and be "at work" 20 seconds later. A beautiful thing to be sure.

At work it was my Erikson panel (my work pipe) loaded with Former's Straight Grain flake....

Wasted, gentlemen, because I did not smoke today, not by choice but by circumstances. I did manage to DGT some unscented Dark Flake in the Reynolds Rouser, but that was purely luck. The dreaded black hole of man's existence, the "Household Errand" sucked up what little time I had to spend in more profitable and pleasant pursuits. Now, though, the sons are off either to work or to congregate, SWSL is abed, the demon Peke snores quietly, and my first real smoke of the day, a Pete 303 filled w/ ERRd smooths out the day's edges.

...two day vacation up to the Wisconsin Door County Pinnensula. Beautiful as always and I smoked almost all the time. Had six pipes with me and lots of Two Friends Heritage and Captain Bob's Blend. It was so hot yesterday up there (90 degrees) we actually basted in the pool at the resort. Today was also beautiful but a high of 68 degrees. Felt just right.
