Sunday Smokes 7/6/08
Awww, the last day of my vacation has arrived. Its overcast but not bad outside so I'm going to take advantage of this last day by spending some coveted time out on the patio with a good book and a good pipe! Its a bit early for me to smoke - generally I don't pick up a pipe until mid afternoon but this weather is not to be trusted and I'm not going to take a chance on missing out on some outdoor reading time today. So its a Group 4 Dunhill Chestnut Straight Billiard / 3 year old Dunhilll London Mixture / Kristen Britain's "The High King's Tomb" ... oh yeah, that fits the bill perfectly. Hope everyone has a good day!

Probably not very hot today as it's overcast and getting ready to rain about any time. Smoking Haunted Bookshop in my ugly duckling, no name rhodesian.

in a Butz-Choquin Mirage. Overcast, humid, and a chance for showers...what else is new here?

it's humid, like beads of sweat down the small of your back humid, but fortunately not annoyingly hot, maybe 80F and looking to rain. Up since about 0500 EDT, yet this is the first pipe of the day, because of errands and other stupid stuff that I've had to do. I am smoking H&H in a Ben Wade standard #273. It's am OK smoke in an OK pipe, shaped like a 1/4 bent pear.

Today this is great, I know that I have written it off as boring, unsatisfying... However, today is H&H day it seems
If I have not seen as far as others, it's because giants have been standing on my shoulders.
Taking a break from painting the new house. Got PA in a Stanwell bulldog. Sitting in me A/C'd study. Got this room finished first just for this.
AGAIN! Have some very good Penzance in a Pete Sherlock Holmes Oom Paul. Wife's birthday today & all that goes with it. Not bad actually - suppose I'm still recovering from my week away. Trust you chaps out West are enjoying the afternoon.
I thought today would be a wash out in the afternoon but so far so good. Hey, if I can squeeze another hour out on the patio I'd call today a huge success. Next pipe combo: Group 4 Dunhill County Straight Billiard / Old Gowrie / Same book. Life is good!

Sticking with my light burley theory, I've made my way to the lightest I know of, Kentucky Club Mild. This is normally WAAAY too light for me but for some odd reason is tasting really good to me tonight. I think I have cracked the code for hot weather smokes lighter is better and (no surprise) uberlight codger burlies are where it's at.
