Thursday Smoke 7/3/08

Howdy all ... been a looooooong time since I started one of these threads. There doesn't seem to be another so what the heck.

I never got around to that ABF last night so its up next: Group 4 Dunhill DR** Straight Billiard / Solani Aged Burley Flake. Heading out to the patio to read for a while right after I have a light lunch. Man, this vacation has been exactly what the doctor ordered. Relaxing. Soooo relaxing. I really needed this down time. And thank you God for the great weather we've been having here in RI. Bright sunshine today (maybe some showers in the afternoon but who cares!). Temps right where I like 'em (mid to upper 80s). Humidity levels fairly low. Paradise I tell ya.

Home Early

beating the Holiday rush, and I had to finish a few errands on the way. Of course, I forgot my pouch, but, God is good. There was a tin of Riverboat Gambler in my bag. So, RG and a Sav Bruna billiard (also in the bag, I told you that God is good!)and the ride home was worthwhile, despite the errands. Off now until Tuesday, perhaps Wednesday if I can squeeze another vacation day. Let the smoking begin, and be good!

A Cargo of contentment

Not really.

half and half, as is, is not doing it for me. Adding some perique makes it better, but still not good. Not anywhere near the experience of adding perique to Edgeworth ready rubbed (sublime).

It smokes hot and wet, not that much taste. Give me OJK any day instead of this.

haven't had tounge bite in a fair while, but with H&H I got it back.

I mixed up some Kentucky Club...

and perique which I'm enjoying now in a Savinelli second. Just takin' it easy today.

Wha-Hoo

I too took an early day as I had to go in last Saturday. It is not much but it stretches the weekend just a wee bit more than three days. Allowed me to get some of the weekend errands out of the way. Enjoying a bowl of P&C Larry's Blend in a OO billiard, followed by an hours nap and into the dungeon during the cool of the evening.

BBQ and family are in the wings, baby-backs were on sale. Hope all here have a great weekend.

Me and my L'anatra Large Canadia are puffing away...

Alternating between Two Friends-Heritage and Captain Bob's light latakia mixture and admiring the beautiful sheen from polishing this pipe this morning. I'm trying to keep my finger prints off the warm carnauba waxed bowl and looking forward to fireworks in Wisconsin this evening under cool and clear skies for a change. Happy Fourth, everyone.

A couple of reliable old

A couple of reliable old Kaywoodies and a bag of Prince Albert Choice Blend and I'm off to work. It's pushing 90 degrees and the sky is growing black. If I don't catch up with you till Monday, have a good holiday.

Didn't feel like smoking this morning...

...crap, now I kinda do. Ah well. Finally got around to trying the FVF in the Pete (wanted the deep bowl). Loved it! Also smoked some (G&H) Bob's Chocolate Flake in it. Wow, once you get over the sort ofsoapy taste and start tasting all the other tobaccos that go into this one, you really start to fall in love.

Tonight will be Mac Baren HH Mature Virginia in the Sav. I tried this the other night (my tobacconist gave me a smple knowing that I like VAs) and found it delightful. A little too weet (almost aromatic) at times, but it mellows to a really nice smelling and tasting sweet Va.

Something Totally Different

Smoking Old Gowrie in a no name danish with a pineapple/coconut boat drink on the side. Happy 4th of July fellas.
