Tuesday morning smokes
I've just had a couple of great burleys bowls; Morley's Best in a Lannes Johnson XL billiard and OJK in a MM General cob. Great way to start the day.

10/17/08 - Morleysson - "Other than rubbing two sticks together, or flint and tinder, and lightening takes too long and can be dangerous, I prefer Diamond kitchen matches in the house and the smaller Diamond packs for travel." (on what he uses to light his pipe)
10/17/08 - 1OLDGI - "So Ricky, here's what you do. Pull out a Kaywoodie (make sure it's clean), lock and load a nice bowl of PA, Half and Half, or Edgeworth. Set fire to same. Open a cold Natural Light and enjoy. Sometimes less is more and getting back to basics is a sure fire way to stave off these sorts of existential funks."

CB in my Chrishill this morning. Weather isn't bad this morning so the idiots I work for decided to be open (despite most schools and govt. offices being closed for the hurricane.) I'm sure getting to work won't be a problem but coming home promises to be pretty sporty.

I have 10 to Midnight (Hearth & Home) in a Peterson bent bulldog going at the moment. No hurricanes here, but it is overcast & cold. Winter is making itself felt again.
in a Savinelli pot. Also brought C&D's Exclusive to determine if there's too much perique for my taste in it. My first bowl was while my mouth was on fire from testing everything else.

Prince Albert in a Kaywoodie Canadian to start this day. Heading to work in about an hour. Looks like a fine day weather-wise, but thunderstorms are moving in later. Happy smoking guys.
woke up after a few hours of sleep, been at a meeting with a professor at the university. This was about a position as a PhD student at the Div of Operation and Maintenance Engineering. very cool stuff !!!
have two exams coming up, before I can graduate, so wish me luck on the 23d and 28th of August!
if I get them, I will probably get the PhD position, and you will have to call Me Dr in a few years time ;)
hm, todays smokes have been a bowl of Brown No 4, and some Dark Birdseye. Got to keep the flow up, studying for the exams.
Have a great day folks
If I have not seen as far as others, it's because giants have been standing on my shoulders.
The only thing not overflowing on my plate today is pipe pleasure.
It will be a smoke-arama of Captain Bob's Blend and Riverboat Gambler. Got two quarter bent pots with me. One is a no-name but a great sandblast smoker. The other is Sav-Uhles-Gold sandblast. For a larger smoke later, I brought along my L'Anatra Canadian. It's a seven-incher and a large capacity bowl.
Have a great day, everyone.

but seems this is the day's thread. I am in kinda of a Whao Hoo mood today. Yep after shelling a few quahogs out for the downstairs it is finally rented, knock on wood, for September 15. Vacant for 1 year, what a bitch as it usually is rented within 2 or 3 months. I can't help but wonder if the banks loaning billions out for teaser rates of 1% has decimated the rental market. Don't know but I think it must be at least a contribution factor. Regardless, good news, knock on wood.
Other than that, started a bowl of Nightcap about an hour ago and the phone rang, I let it go out and have just relit it. When you are in a latakia mood it is a fine blend, smooth and thick and IMO a great room note. Smoking it in a green freehand, yes green with a funky multi colored stem.
Fume in pace, ckr
Competition Blend mostly with a couple bowls of HB thrown in for good measure. Fortunately, the hurricane took some pretty unexpected turns and as a result we had cloudy weather most of the day but nothing much more than a drizzle (if that) a some rather blustery winds. All tolled I doubt we had 1/4" of rain max winds may have been gusts to 15 MPH. Kind of anti-climatic but I'll take those kind of surprises any day of the week.

Ckr : congrats on finally getting that unit rented!
GI : its good go hear that storm amounted to nothing - the news media sooooo wanted it to be a disaster - a pox on them and their wicked wishes.
