How's your legalese?
Most interesting part:
10.2 No manufacturer or retailer shall sell a tobacco product that includes a flavouring agent other than sugar, tobacco, tobacco extracts or reconstituted tobacco.
I think you can say goodbye to pretty much every single aromatic out there. As a matter of fact, does that leave any pipe tobacco at all?
Then there's 15.2 (1) about health warnings, but that looks an awful lot like what we already have over here in the EU.
Granted, this is Canadian legislation, but still, if they start it, Someone right across the border may notice it too. Heck someone right across the Atlantic Ocean just noticed it and is currently typing something about it on MPC ...

pretty interesting. My thoughts on 10.2 are that they see flavorings as a lure into tobacco use. Children are more likely to smoke root beer cigaretts than natural cigaretts.
However, I suppose, technically, someone could use said root beer to reconsitiute tobacco making it perfectly legal.

This is an amendment to the Tobacco Act( which broadly covers cigarillos, cigars and pipe tobacco). However, I think, I hope the particular amendment refers exclusivly to cigarillos.
not directed at people who smoke those dreadful water pipe things - we call them bongs over here?

Hookahs, I've heard most south africans call them hubbly bubbly and laugh at me actually. Lol
However, but I don't think so, shisha tends to be the least regulated form of tobacco in Canada.
This proposition has still a long way to go before it will be actual law. However, I can't really see this being stopped, especially considering the sheer number of lobby groups backing it ...
Still it is worth taking note of something like this, and trying to keep track of what may or may not be shifting in similar directions in our own regions.
When this comes to pass, you can be sure it will be the deathblow to pipe tobacco.
Cheers!

Depending on their definition of "flavoring agent" this bill could practically outlaw any tobacco sale in Canada. Even the often-mentioned English law was not so specific with regard to flavoring.
