In honor of Morleysson!
Anybody and everybody who loves burley, and probably anybody who smokes a pipe has heard of our local hero Bob Runowski aka Morleysson.
I follow his posts and read them all several times trying to learn all the info and history I can. I hope he will write a book one day on all his adventures in pipe smoking! I'll be on line among the first of his customers if he does.
In the meantime I was anxious to grab some Edgeworth RR in Bob's honor ever since Morleyson mentioned it was being discontinued and after reading his reviews here and on tobaccoreviews.com. I also followed Quaffers thread. After waiting almost a full month and having my order travel from America to Israel, back to America, and back to Israel, I am the proud (and now broke, damn you thieving customs bastards (Lars, can I say that on TV?)) owner of several cans. I also had to stock up on GH Kendall Kentucky after reading Morleysson's classic review. Boys and girls, do not attempt to drink coffee or soda while you are reading this hysterical review!
I'm not sure what I'm going to try first as I have a lot open now and am not smoking very much because of the hot weather but it will probably be the Kendall Kentucky. I don't know if it has any Latakia in it but it smells more like an honest to goodness campfire than any Latakia blend I ever popped open. Rich, rich, rich! What a tobacco!
Thanks to you Bob Runowski for your work on burleys with C&D (have several pounds and they are getting much better with age) and elsewhere and keeping the tradition of pipe smoking alive, and for your interesting and enjoyable posts!

P.S. Bob I sent you a note here on the forums a week or two ago but don't know if you got it.

Morleysson is THE MAN! He has a way of turning his extensive tobacco/pipe knowledge into very interesting reading. Nearly all of Bobs recommendations have turned out to be winners for me and he has given me a slightly different view on the whole world of blending.
Although he touched on the subject in one post some time ago, I would be interested in hearing about the real Joe Krantz, and how the blend became what it is, since some people have asked me when they hear the name.
Hats off to Bob Runowski!!!

Hopefully we don't embarass him off the site, however, the man is a huge source of information and his posts are always a great read!

Great .. just great .. Now when he comes back online he'll prance around wearing robes and a crown, demanding obedience and yada yada yada. I'll get the shotgun.

There's a man goin' 'round takin' names. An' he decides who to free and who to blame. Everybody won't be treated all the same. There'll be a golden ladder reaching down. When the man comes around.
The hairs on your arm will stand up. At the joy in each sip and in each sup. For you partake of that last offered bowl, Or disappear into the potter's ground. When the man comes around.
Whoever smokes burley, let him smoke burley still. Whoever smokes VA , let him smoke VA still. Whoever smokes aromatics, let him be filthy still. Listen to the words long written down, When the man comes around.
If I have not seen as far as others, it's because giants have been standing on my shoulders.
but I liked it!

My smoking pleasure had increased immeasurably since I discovered Bob Runowski burley blendss. I had smoked burley before (mainly Carter Hall and PA) in the past but when I fired up my first bowl of Morley's Best I knew I had found nirvana. My list of regular Runowski/Tarler blends now also includes Haunted Bookshop, Old Joe Krantz, Pegasus, Safe Harbor Flake, and Purple Cow. Wonderful blends all!
Smokey
Smokey, great to see you around. I've also learned alot from reading your posts. Lately I've been going over the old archives of the yahoo snuff group and as usual yours are among the best and most informative. Thanks for all your advice on pipes.org too.

Long time, no hear, dude! I went through a bad spell this year, my wife had an aortal aneurysm on her heart and nearly died. She was in open heart surgery for eight hours and in the ICU for five weeks, finally got out after six weeks. She's home now and doing much better, there were a lot of people praying for her. It's nice to have lots of good friends when in a crisis situation.
Smokey
Smokey, really sorry to hear about this. I know you were having some troubles you mentioned to me awhile back. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I didn't realize your wife was having troubles too. Thank God you are both ok!
Thanks again for all your help and advice and very glad to see you back. Hope it will be good news for you from now on.
