Hello

Hello

I am a relatively new pipe smoker. I smoked cigarettes for many years but quit in the early 80's. Began smoking cigars about 18 months ago and then was introduced to pipes. Didn't take to them at first. Too fiddly. But after lots of practice (and matches) I finally "got it". Now I'm addicted. Not so much to the pipe smoking....but to pipe BUYING. Of course I enjoy the smoking, too. I am in Tacoma, WA, and wish to extend an invitation to any local pipe smokers (or wannabes) to check out The Seattle Pipe Club: http://www.seattlepi...
Also, if you're looking for a nice place to hang out, have a drink, watch some sports, and smoke....come visit Smokey Joe's in Fife, WA. http://www.smokeyjoe...
I have an eclectic taste in pipes. My favorite is my Dal Fuime. I mostly smoke aromatics (love Creme Brulee) but also enjoy the occasional Virginia. Glad to meet all of you.

Mogwort,

welcome. Smokey Joes looks like a nice place to kill some time. Food, booze and smoke my kind of atmosphere.

What does Washingon State have for bans?

WA bans

Smoking is banned indoors everywhere except on the Indian Reservations. Thankfully we have some nice places to hang out. There's Smokey Joe's, which is really nice and fancy, and there's the Aficionado Cigar Lounge in Tacoma, WA.

It's not nearly as nice but they have a great selection of cigars and they pour a good drink.

Hello

And a welcome from me as well.

Enjoy!

Welcome aboard...

This is a a real nice place. It's that way because the folks are so nice. Like author Garrison Keeler says, A place where the women are strong, the men are good looking and the children are above average", Lake Wobegone. Haven't seen the women yet... still looking!

I'm good looking? Aww

I'm good looking? Aww shucks...

As far as women go, I don't think we'll be getting hordes of them here. Too many of them think we've lost our minds completely.

What!

I'm gobsmacked! About the women of course. Thought they'd be here anytime now - following the fumes of OGS like the Pied Piper of Hamlyn (now that we must smoke outside). Led astray. Welcome Mogwort. I'm fascinated that one can smoke indoors on Indian Reservations. Is this due to the special ventilation of teepee's? Or that the Indians don't give a f@@k about the smoking laws anyway?

After we

stole the whole country from them we had the decency to corral them onto reservations and give some land back to them. I don't think they mind, they seem to own enough casinos and are doing very well stealing from us now, so it all comes out in the wash. Another good thing about the reservations is no tobacco taxes.
