I am still trying to answer this question. My wife doesn't like the smell of latakia. So I typically stay away from anything with a high latakia content.

As you have probably figured out,we're pretty laid back here...no one will chastise you for only smoking a few bowls a week. OGS is pretty popular here and a few of us probably have the same experience with latakia...how can something so good smell so bad?

To me latakia is quite foul, dunno why really, and it might change with time. But it does smell like fart if someome smokes a bowl of a latakia bound tobacco.

fart is just going a bit too far especially from someone addicted to the repugnance of perique.

You're forgiven for not liking Latakia. HOWEVER - the Smoke Stack is NOT. Anyone who can handle pure Perique, soak it in rum for added effect & then complains about Latakia smelling like farts (while perspiration drips off his forehead)...and then wonders why he's the smokestack.... humph. So what if it smells like farts. What makes for old farts then? Personally I think it smells like a horse box. But then I like horses. My wife tolerates Latakia. Most of the time, she tolerates me too. The combination of farts must be overwhelming. Poor girl.

I remember seeing your name before ... but its been a while. Well, anyway ... welcome (or welcome back as the case may be).

Then again ... it may be that I just remember seeing it in the "new members" window on the left of the screen ... well, either way: welcome.

when it comes to room note, some complain that my beloved Cob Plug have the room note/stench of manure. I agree to some extent, but I still love smoking it.

Welcome aboard, glad to have you. For the record, latakia smells like burning tires, not farts.

Something smelly burned by tired old farts. I think.

Nice to have a sane (?) person with us older farts. My wife doesn't care for latakia. But, she doesn't notice an ounce to a pound in my own Captain Bob's Blend, but I do like a touch of it (1/16th). I look forward to your companionship.
