What say we who have ckr pipes smoke 'em tomorrow (Sunday)
I've been thinking about this for a couple of days ... a bunch of us have been blessed by Chris with our own ckr masterpieces ... and I thought it might be a hoot to take a day when we all smoke them and report here to Chris on how his handywork is performing!
Good idea? Bad idea? I'm gonna do it if no one else does. I'll reply back here sometime tomorrow afternoon or evening with my "how the bullfrog is doing" report.
Anyone else want to play?

For my ckr pipe... I suppose I'll have to make one for him too... sheesh.

I'll have to wait till I get home.Smoked it the other night but I'm sure I can get a few bowls out of it tonight.

While I'm reading the thread, I'm loading the 'Rouser with the 'Gambler, charted for unknown waters. This won't be the last linking of these two today.
Just lit the smoke. Very nice, indeed.

The Chrishill will be burning HB a bit later today. White dot pipe, LOL! Hey doesn't Ford own Jaguar? So I'm smoking a white dot pipe and driving a Jaguar pick up truck right?

She's my most prized possession and it'll be C&D Red Carpet shortly.

Grumble, grumble.
I only have rejects.
It seems the couple rejects of yours that I have seen are as nice as my "for sale" pipes.
In the event you ever get around to it... I would like...
Dublin, roughly 5 3/4 long, thin shank, 1 1/2 bowl height, group 3ish I suppose.... yeah, that seems about right. Hell, nothin fancy, you can even make it a reject...
NOW GET TO WORK !!
=o)

with Dan Tobacco's Treasures of Ireland Limerick (VA/Per). Last smoke was VA/Cigar - this should be an interesting crossover experiment LOL.

loaded with Riverboat Gambler. Great tobacco in a finely crafted pipe! (Diet Pepsi on the side).

I'm referring to the smoke chamber of our ckr pipes, you rascals!, however, a full bowl of Red Carpet is still a formidable task. This straight grained beauty is more than up for the task. Again - my most prized possession from a good freind.

Previous smoke: McClelland Dominican Glory.
Current smoke: Dan's Limerick (a mild Va/Per)
=============================================
Net result: a cigarish mild Va/Per
But the pipe performed admirably.
Now I've just got to go onto another bowl of Limerick so I can remember what it is supposed to taste like! This time it'll be in my Stanwell ... that darn pipe is still shouting my name louder than any other. Gotta love that.

Grumble, grumble.
Are you grumbling about slow mail or are you just plain grumpy? Doesn't look to me like you have a damn thing to grumble about.
Africans, you'd think an elephant was stepping on his toe. Anyway soon to be on the Pretoria Express.

So I guess it's true the shoemaker's kids always need shoes. My Chrishill has burned a couple loads of HB today in an admirable fashion. Thanks again Mr. Reynolds for your superior skills and a very generous gift.
And now for my token grumble: Stupid Denver Broncos...Grumble, Grumble, Grumble. Raining and cold there today, their defense ranked 30 out of 32 played way above their heads today, much to the chagrin of my poor Bucs.

If I read that right, score one for Muddler! Hey Chris, thats one super stem treatment there pal. Very nice looking Billiard. And the matching tamper is a nice touch too!

Congrats!
Feed it well :)

I'm gobsmacked, speechless (rare phenomenon), amazed, grateful, impressed & completely overwhelmed. Never before has a grumble got me anything (apart from a smack across the chops). Thank you Chris! It's an absolute beauty! Favourite shape, the wood is magnificent & the ivory on the tamper is, well, brilliant. Can't wait for it to arrive. Thank you again. I will christen it with Morley's Best, I think.
PS. I showed it to my wife. She couldn't believe it. Goes to show what a great bunch of buddies we are.
You are most welcome. However, the tamper end is a spent 45 (Standard MPC issue). The mastodon tusk is just propping the pipe up. I have yet to figure out how to work that stuff. The wood inlay and tamper are both black palm. I was quite pleased at how it's color is so close to the ebonite that is looks like the ebonite bleeds right into the wood. I hope to take some decent pics before it hits the mail.
I'll have to leave the chop smacking to the wife. :-)

Now you got me really jealous. Grumble grumble, moan and groan. Great looking pipe!! I really hope Muddler gets a serious tonguebite everytime he looks at it:-)

I could give you some tips on working Mastodon (at least I think it's the same as Mammoth). It really is not too difficult to work. The greatest concern usually is crumbling and cracking but this can be avoided by taking some precautions.
I'll keep in mind when I get around to doing something with other than an expensive pipe prop.

Good for you! The pipe is a beauty! Enjoy!

... I don't have a ckr pipe! So, I'll just smoke one of my pipes and pretend that I belong in this topic.
