Where did you hear about my-pipes.com (please elaborate)

I heard about the site when it was in its infancy. We were talking about pipe sites on IRC where I was introduced to the new site. I've been around ever since.

Was it Brian who first mentioned MPC on ASP? I forget ... but I heard about it in the first week I think ... anyway, been here since the start and don't plan on going away any time soon.

at Peretti's website, found a link to a Boston pipe club, which in turn had a link here. I was born and raised just outside Boston so I figured I might fit in here somehow.

RevJay, the German Shepherd, and I have been friends for more than 10 years, a situation for which I consider myself most fortunate. Sometime in early '07, Jay happened to mention to me that he had found another pipe site in which I might be interested. He threw out words like 'literate', knowledgeable', and 'welcoming',

"Welcoming,even to Croatians?" I asked increduously. "I find this situation most amazing. So few of us are ever accepted anywhere, rarely in polite company."

"Yes, welcoming.", responded Jay.

Even this might be a stretch of the truth, I have found the site before that, during som extensive google using. I did not stay at that time though.

Then Lars at #Pipes suggested I get a membership, and here I am.

Lord knows what I was looking for. One of my interminable searches for something or another. This is the first pipe website I've joined & remains my favourite. It has a funky feel about it that is most appealing.

... for the answer to some question and google found the answer in our Forum.

Just wandered in.

On tobaccoreviews.com and several other pipe forums I visit, I kept seeing the phrase 'codger burlies'. Being a fan of the blends that fall under that label, I wondered if there was perhaps a site devoted to them. I typed 'codger burlies' into Google and found 1OldGI's blog titled 'American Codger Burley Association'. I've been reading here every since.

if I flag that post as offensive can you clobber it. :-) Just kiddin', actually that was one of the GI's better planned offensives.

I was contentedly enjoying myself on another board when an invitation was extended to join MPC. I did, but did not get around to posting for a few months. I was also new at the board where the invitation was extended and soon found that the group there had a few disruptive individuals going on and on about crap that did not really hold my interest. I guess the final straw was when someone was busted on about something and an all out war broke out. After that I just figured screw it. A couple of months later I gave MPC a shot and I am soooooo glad I did. MPC is a true oaisis in the desert of the anti-tobacco movement.

Oh, did I mention no other forum would take me. Just like me to leave out the relevant facts.

but I was browsing on ASP and getting more and more fed up with trolls and some of the elitism...but I guess I got on here about a week or two after the forum started...something like that...

My memory ain't what it once was but I do believe I discovered MPC during a google search sometime in early 2007. I'll often just look to see what I can or see. So I came to MPC and it's been home every since.

I am new to pipes and simply "googled" pipe forum

But knowing me I am convinced it was by following a link to a link to a link......

I was looking for info on pipemaking and stumbled across MPC. After checking it out for a few days I decided to join. Besides, my shrink advised me to talk to other people suffering from the same disorder............

The enablers just keep showing up.

Googled "online pipe forum" and here I am.

Some of you may remember, I was sooo new - I was storing my aromatics in a plastic bag in my fridge...

I'm a hard sell for online sites. Its a tribute to MPC that I'm still around and have no plans of leaving. A daily staple.
