10/17/08 - Morleysson - "Other than rubbing two sticks together, or flint and tinder, and lightening takes too long and can be dangerous, I prefer Diamond kitchen matches in the house and the smaller Diamond packs for travel." (on what he uses to light his pipe)
10/17/08 - 1OLDGI - "So Ricky, here's what you do. Pull out a Kaywoodie (make sure it's clean), lock and load a nice bowl of PA, Half and Half, or Edgeworth. Set fire to same. Open a cold Natural Light and enjoy. Sometimes less is more and getting back to basics is a sure fire way to stave off these sorts of existential funks."

However
Love to delve back into burleys for a break (Wessex and BBF)
Took me
a bit to hit this probably because I like VA, Burley and Latakia based tobaccos. I do believe that VA's come first though.
VAs baby!
btw Bob, BBF is pure VA bliss, not a burley.
Tobacco...
I guess that covers all of 'em!
Rick
Brain fart on the BBF, I am currently smoking Wessex and BB2 for my Burley fix, even though BB2 is a VaBur, I believe.
(My daughter is currently chatting incessantly at my side and wants me to tell my "pipe friends" she says "HI")
Now I know why females don't fart. They can't shut their mouth long enough to build up the pressure..:o)
Unusual post, I found a way to say"fart" three times.
Fart I understand
but what is BB2?
BTW: Congradulations on working three farts into a thread. See I can only manage two.
Best Brown 2
Gawith Hogarth & Co,
Probably more commonly known as Best Brown Flake #2. The tin cover says Best Brown 2, the tag on the back of the tin states Best Brown Flake #2.
It's not nice of them to confuse a rookie...
BBF vs BB#2 - my mistake
Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake = Pure VA bliss
Gawith Hoggarth & Co Best Brown #2 = Burley/Va (also blissfully delicious)
When I first tried them both I instantly fell in love with BBF. BB#2 took a couple of tries before the magic happened. Either way, both are HIGH on my 'gotta have list'. Both are worse with age but its a temporary worse. The lakeland topping / flavoring / whatever it is that Gawith uses intensifies very much with age but thankfully dissapates quickly after opening the aged tin (within a week or two). Once dissapated, both are superb tobaccos with a year on them.
Not real big on the mouthful
Not real big on the mouthful of flowers for BB#2, but if I let it sit out a little before I smoke it, it mostly goes away.
The floral note7 is strong enough that I'm surprised it's as popular as it is. I overlook it because the end result is fantastic.
I'm really sold to the
I'm really sold to the Virginias. I would like to vote "I just like tobacco", but looking at my every day smokes, I would be lying. I do just like tobacco, but it's just not what I smoke all the time. VA's rule my world.
